Decided to delete an old blog started almost 8 years ago. Instead of deleting all posts, I will post many that were needed at different points of my life. Enjoy!

One day many months ago, I woke up wanting to be pro-active about a cause. Let me tell you, this isn't my first rodeo giving back to the community. I love giving back!! Since the reunion of the New Kids on the Block, us Blockheads have become very pro-active in giving back to cause dear to NKOTB as well as us. The loss of Danny Wood's mother Betty to Breast Cancer 11 years ago was very tragic (Remember Betty). Did you know that Breast Cancer is the second deadliest cancer to women in the world?
Since Team Betty's at various Susan G. Komen events have been gaining momentum for over 3 years now, I created a team here in Las Vegas for us Blockheads to join. I knew the word was out, and that others wanted to join as well. For months, I got our name out to our fellow Team Betty members across the country, as well as raised funds for our team. I felt it was important to bring honor to Betty Wood, fallen, and the survivors of this horrific disease. I may not have a specific tie yet; keyword being yet. Breast Cancer does NOT age discriminate! The research on this disease really opens your eyes to the magnitude, and the quest to find a cure! Many Blockheads would say that my intentions with this team weren't noble, and that I just wanted to get recognition from Danny Wood. You couldn't be more incorrect if I smacked you in your ass. Like I have mentioned, I get euphoria out of helping others.
May 7, 2011 arrived with 13 members registered and ready to participate in the race for the cure! Not everybody was able, but the Sleep In for the Cure option is very clever and convenient. To date the team has raised 84% of the goal, which translates into $1,267 of the $1,500 goal. I couldn't be more proud to be a part of this team. Any donations were appreciated, but to almost reach our goal in these hard times we are living in is beyond amazing. The event was beyond moving seeing the many generations of women that have been affected. Not to mention to hear that a record 20,000 people showed up to find a cure in historic downtown Las Vegas!
I urge anybody to join a cause or two or many, and participate. It truly opens your eyes as well as your heart. GOOD NEWS...we can still raise funds till May 31, 2011. So, if you haven't had the chance to donate to our team, you still can! Let's get to that 100%!!! Here's the link...
