Really? This is happening! Posted August 7, 2009

Decided to delete an old blog started almost 8 years ago. Instead of deleting all posts, I will post many that were needed at different points of my life. Enjoy!

This week has really given me some perspective (or I am just following the theme on the NKOTB forum) on our bond. Allow me...   In times of great trial, tragedy, and positvity the NK Army assumes the role of a union that is strong with themselves in addition with NKOTB as well. However, when the opportunity to engage in a NKOTB event such as the cruise, the claws/competition seems to get the best of us. Do not get me wrong, we are truly sisters and brothers who have a significant bond that can not be messed with, but I am at a loss as to why attitudes change when opportunities present themselves. I believe I share this sentiment not only with fellow Blockheads, but with the members of NKOTB themselves. The cruise frenzy (well really clusterfuck) continues to prove how much we really love NKOTB, yet brings out the worst emotions towards others. I could tell every clique of Blockheads was trying everything in their power to get their clique on the SS NKOTB 2010, and as the booking clusterfuck proved that just getting on the boat was good enough! Now there are some of us who didn't go on the last one, and will not be embarking on this one due to life circumstances; so I want to wish all the best to those able to go!!! I would just hope that we realize that we can't break down as an army, the minute an opportunity presents itself! Our strength comes from our bond with each other as well as NKOTB!   Another issue... the members of NKOTB are human like us. I know crazy right? I don't think we mean to, but we sometimes put them on a pedestal. I love, respect, and admire them for what they have done for us during this reunion! The tweets, the tours, the cruise, the whole package has been amazing! Keeping this in mind, I am sick of the negativity that occurs when a change in projected plans occurs. Exhibit A: Jimmy Marsh's album release party last night. I saw some negativity floating around at the fact that Donnie Wahlberg did not show up. I am not happy with that, as it was Jimmy was the focus, and it proves that some Blockheads are only supporting Jimmy due to the fact that DDub is involved! That treatment is appalling, and disrespects Jimmy without a valid reason. I understand that DDub gave us the impression that he was going to be there, but like I mentioned, he is human. I am sure something came up in his life preventing him from attending! We need to respect DDub as he has done a lot for us, we can not keep portraying such negativity every time something happens! The overall negativity brings our strength down, when we should be figuring out way to keep building our strength!     I do believe I shared my two cents! I hope some agree! Thanks!!
